As I watch the introduction of AI across projects I was reminded of when we introduced Data Warehouses (or as we renamed it Business Intelligence). We became fixated with creating pools of data, having to spend time cleaning it up, defining what it was and the rules around its creation and storage. Those warehouses of data are using Large Language Models to interpret and learn from them now as part of AI ….but the question is can we create the value? 

What we needed to do in the past was hire or train people to ask questions and be curious of the data we had. I believe we need to do more of the same again as we develop our use of AI and find people with the curiosity and the tenacity to chase answers to problems because if we dont what we end up with is so much promise but little realized value in these investments.
