Does it feel sometimes that as you practice Project Management there are occasions when you come up against an ‘immoveable object’ and you feel knocked down in the face of common sense and best practice. It is a wake up call that what we see as the right thing to do isn’t seen the same way by others and that their opinions are shaped by their own experience, knowledge, ego, how they are feeling that day etc. So what do you do in the face of this?
An experienced Project Manager gets back up again, analyzes the situation and uses their ‘tool box’ to establish another approach. This requires a certain amount of taking steps back, a large number of deep breaths (without passing out :)), talking with colleagues and establishing a new path forward. We must always remember that there is more than one way to solve issues and to work around road blocks
